ANATEL – National Telecommunications Agency – through the publication of Letter No. 38 of February 7, 2019 complements the requirements of Resolution No. 700 of October 2, 2018, which established the Regulation on the Evaluation of the Human Exposure to Electrical, Magnetic and Electromagnetic Fields Associated with the Operation of Radio Communication Stations.

The Resolution No. 700 of October 2, 2018 establishes that the maximum measured value of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) for head and trunk exposure, where applicable, should be reported, with particular emphasis, in the operating manual or in the packaging of portable terminal stations as noticed by UL recently. The new Letter No. 38 of February 7, 2019 clarifies that those products previously approved and those submitted for approval to ANATEL before Jan 30, 2019 could comply with requirements of Resolution No. 700 of October 2, 2018 in the next renew and/or surveillance.
