Navigating the new India Requirements for TEC

January 1, 2019 starts the implementation of the new Indian Telecommunication Engineering Center (TEC) requirements for the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE). This new requirement implements essential requirements that must be met prior to import, distribution and sale of telecom equipment to the Indian market. The MTCTE has two schemes, Simplified and General. The essential requirement of the schemes cover the following requirements: EMC, Safety, SAR, RF, IPv4 and Ipv6. The TEC has implemented a list of products that require MTCTE approval and will phase in the requirement in 2019.
